Summary of feedback forms sent to Partner Support Clients 16 weeks after their partner/ex-partner has stopped attending the Men’s Counselling Programme


Support received by the Partner Support project

  • 94% of clients that responded expressed that all the Partner Support services were satisfactory or very satisfactory

  • 100% of clients who had face-to-face counselling expressed that the support was very satisfactory

  • 100% of clients said the letters/leaflets were easy to understand/informative

  • 83% said the letters/leaflets were useful/relevant

Self Esteem

  • 37.5% of clients felt more confident about themselves

  • 25% more able to keep themselves (and their children) safe

  • 50% felt more able to assert themselves

  • 50% felt less isolated from friends, family or support

  • 37.5% felt more able to make decisions and choices

Circumstances

  • 25% felt circumstances had improved regarding their work life

  • 12.5% felt circumstances had improved regarding their children

  • 12.5% felt circumstances had improved regarding their community life

  • 25% felt circumstances had improved regarding their leisure activities

Support Group

  • 48% of clients said they would be interested in attending a support group


Dependent Children

  • 43% of clients indicated they have children

Frequency of Physical Abuse

  • 52% of clients reported they were experiencing physical abuse daily, weekly or monthly before the programme and after the programme this was reduced to 4%.

  • After the programme 66% of clients reported that they now experienced physical abuse occasionally or never.

Frequency of Emotional Abuse

  • After the programme 52% of clients reported that they now experienced emotional abuse occasionally or never.

Communication

  • 61% of clients reported that their (ex) partner’s communication had improved or much improved since his participation in the Men’s Counselling Programme
